My Harris Teeter Super Double Deals

I paid a total of $5.94 plus tax for all these items!
Pre-coupon and sales total was $54.75!

I was happy to save 89% on my groceries today at Harris Teeter! The deals this week were decent; nothing that I will get too excited about but I thought I’d share in case you see something that you’d like to pick up, too.

I paid less than $1 for most items, including for a few expensive cleaning items that normally would have cost over $4 each.

FREE Items:

Crave Cat Treats
Carpet Fresh
County Crock Sticks
I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter Sticks
I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter Tub

50 cents or less:

Maruchan Yakisoba Noodles- $.19 (used $1.00 off 2 coupon from Lowes Foods Booklet)
Gold Peak Tea- $.50 (used $.75 off coupon from internet)
Emerald On the Go Breakfast Nuts- $.50 (after $1.00 off coupon from internet)
80-count Band Aids- $.50 (after $1.00 off coupon from 4/21 Sunday paper)
Wholly Guacamole- $.50 (after $1.00 off coupon printed from their Facebook page)
Lance Cracker Creations- $.50 after 1.00 off coupon printed online)

Other Deals:

2000 Flushes- $.97 (used $.55 off coupon from Sunday paper back in January)
X-14 Mildew Remover- $.97 (used $.55 off coupon from Sunday paper back in January)
Yo Crunch Four Pack Strawberry with Granola Yogurt- $.77 (used $.75 coupon from Sunday paper in Feb)

I understand that the Yakisoba Noodles will not make me popular amongst the healthy types. I’ve actually never tasted them (they do sound interesting). HOWEVER, after paying $.19, if I don’t like them I realize that they will make a great item to donate to a food bank where I’m sure someone will be glad to have them.

Hopefully, the guacamole, yogurt and nuts will make up for my poor choice of Yakisoba Noodles! I LOVE Wholly Gucamole and it will go great with the Lucks Black Beans that are on sale this week (coupon in the Lowes Foods Spring Savings Booklet).

Also worth mentioning are the non-food products that I scored super cheap, including Carpet Fresh, 2000 Flushes, X-14 and Band-Aids, which are always in short supply in our home with three children under 6!

These are some of the most dramatic deals; I always go for those first. There are MANY other great deals to be had so don’t always obsess yourself with just getting the freebies and super cheapies. You can save a lot this week on items that may not end up being free but still significant savings off their original prices. One example is the Starbucks Ground Coffee. My husband can’t wait for me to get it. It’s on EVIC special for $5.97. After the $1.50 off online coupon it’s only $2.97! It normally costs around $8 so I will be grabbing two of those. (I shared the coupon a few days ago on my FB page but it’s no longer available)

Share your deals this week on the Delly’s Deals Facebook page so we can get them, too! I will also be drawing a name this week to win a $20 grocery store gift card of your choice, so be sure to like Delly’s Deals on FB for your chance!

My First Harris Teeter Super Double Coupons Trip!

Paid only $23.46 for over $83 worth of groceries! Pictured: 2 Welch’s 100% Grape Juices, Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, 2 Honey Nut Cheerios, 2 Crunchmaster Multi-seed Crackers, Seattle’s Best Ground Coffee, Colgate Whitening Toothpaste, 2 Kraft Homestyle Mac N Cheese, 1.29 pounds of Seedless Red Grapes, 2 packs of Jones Dairy Farm Sausage, 1 72 count Pampers Wipes, 1 31 count Size 3 Pampers Diapers, One 32 load Wisk laundry detergent.

Today was the start of Super Double Coupons week at Harris Teeter! During this fun week, Harris Teeter will double coupons that are up to $1.99, up to twenty per day. This means that $1.00 coupons magically turn into $2.00 off and $1.50 coupon turn into $3.00 off at the register. This is an opportunity for big savings!

I had to pick my children up early from preschool so I actually didn’t finish my entire trip. I will go back this evening or tomorrow. Today I bought $83.60 worth of groceries for only $23.46. What a huge savings! I used coupons on all items and also redeemed a couple of coupons for $2.00 off and $1.50 off my total order that I had earned earlier this week. Let’s take a look at some of my savings in detail:

Gluten Free:

The Crunchmaster Crackers are normally $1.99. With my $1.00 off coupon doubling, they became FREE! By the way, if you can’t find them, they are not in the cracker aisle, but near the bread.

The sausage I bought was also Gluten-Free (see below)

Colgate Toothpaste was $.50 after my $.50 coupon doubled. Normally I get toothpaste for free, so I wasn’t super thrilled but it is still a good price.

Jones Dairy Farm Sausage Patties and Links (Gluten-free and delicious) I paid $1.00 after my $2.00 off coupon came off.

Welch’s 100% Grape Juice was $1.00 after my $1.00 coupon doubled. This normally costs $4.59 when not on sale!

Kraft Homestyle Mac n Cheese was $1.00 each after my $1.00/2 coupon doubled.

The Wisk Detergent was $2.97 after my $1.00 coupon doubled, since it was on EVIC special.

The cereals (2 Honey Nut Cheerios, 1 Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and 1 Lucky Charms) ended up being $.60 per box after the General Mills Promo of $2 off came off, plus the $1.00 in digital EVIC coupons, plus the $2.30 in paper coupons which doubled! Excellent price! Be sure to buy four of the promo cereals all together to get the automatic discount of $2.00 off.

The Pampers were on sale for $9.99. Pampers are my favorites but normally I buy Luvs from Target because Pampers tend to be the most expensive, but in my opinion they are the most awesome diapers! I was happy they were on sale AND I had a $1.50 paper coupon which doubled to $3.00 off. I also had a $1.50 EVIC digital coupon which made the final total on my Pampers $5.49 for 31 Size 3 Diapers! That is $.18 per diaper. Let’s compare that to SAMS Club where Pampers cost $.23 cents per diaper! See here. So, my Harris Teeter price that I paid is indeed, better.

*Red seedless grapes are also on sale for only $1.29 a pound which is awesome!

Overall, I was happy with this trip and definitely plan to return a few time for the rest of the week! Some things, such as the FREE Nivea Chapstick, were already out. The Honey Nut Cheerios were getting sparse. But I do believe Harris Teeter will re-stock in anticipation of the crowds (by the way, I went to HT Mayfaire and it was very calm- no more shoppers than usual). Maybe Lowes Foods’ Super Doubles used up some of people’s coupon energy last week!

Click below to make your printable list of deals to get from Harris Teeter Super Doubles Week! You have through next Tuesday, Feb. 21st to take advantage!

Also, remember to share your deals with me on the Delly’s Deals Facebook page to be entered to win a Coupon Binder Refill Kit ($15 value!). Post by Friday evening and get two entries. Drawing on Monday around 10 a.m.

Super Double Coupons at Lowes Foods

I’m so excited that Lowes Foods is trying Super Double Coupons! Many of us enjoy it at Harris Teeter so it will be fun to try it out at Lowes Foods. I’m sure there will be a learning curve for both couponers and the store, so I am asking that people be polite and bear with the store. Hopefully, it will go well for everyone involved and they will do it again in the future!

Here is a list of many of the deals that will be available to us starting tomorrow at Lowes Foods. Super Doubles will run there from February 8th-February 14th. Then, on the 15th, Super Doubles at Harris Teeter will start and last for a whole week! It’s going to be a busy February!

For those who don’t know, Super Doubles means that coupons over $1.00 will also double, up to coupons that are $1.98. For example, $1.00 will double to $2.00 off and $1.50 will double to $3.00 off! A $2 coupon would not double, since it’s beyond the $1.98 limit. You can double up to 20 per day!

A good idea is to pull any $1.00 and $.150 coupons you have that are of interest to you. This way you can price compare and decide if the item is a good deal after the coupon doubles.

I plan on having people post on Facebook some of the deals they get during the week. Let me know an idea for a giveaway!

My First Super Doubles Trip

Pictured: Bounty Paper Towels, Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal, 3 Smart Balance Lactose Free Milk Half-Gallons, Gorton’s Grilled Tilapia, Four Nivea Chapsticks, 2 Aquafresh Whitening Toothpaste, Chobani Greek Yogurt, Fresh Strawberries, International Delight Hazelnut Creamer 24 pack, 2 Packs of Starkist Tuna, 2 Pouches of Betty Crocker Potatoes, V8 Smoothie Juice Drink, Chobani Champs Kids Greek Yogurt, 2 Packs of Wholly Guacamole, POM Juice, Crest Pro-Glide Floss
Total spent: $5.68 (see receipt below)!!!

I went to Super Double Coupons this morning at Harris Teeter. As many of you know, my husband leaves for work at 8 a.m. and gets home at 6 p.m. I prefer not to take my children into the store so that usually means one thing- shop early or shop late! Today I chose to shop early so I could take advantage of the great deals.

My favorite freebies were the Smart Balance Milks (I bought three), Bounty Paper Towels and the Nivea Chapsticks (I was just about to run out of chapstick). I also got two packs of Starfish Tuna for free as well as a freebie I wasn’t expecting but found in the store- the free V8 Smoothie drink which was free after this coupon. You can print the coupon twice, too!

FREE Items after coupons:
Smart Balance Milk
Nivea Lip Care
Crest Glide Floss (used paper plus digital)Bounty Single Roll Paper Towels
Betty Crocker Potatoes
V8 Smoothie Drink
2 Aquafresh Toothpastes

Other Items:
Wholly Guacamole ($.50)
Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal ($.50)
POM Juice ($.50)
Chobani Greek Yogurt ($.40)

One tip I give is to redeem the coupons you want to double first. I have been told that the machine counts all coupons towards your 20 doubling coupons limit, including the ones that will not double. For example, I redeemed my $3 off 2 Nivea Lip care coupon last. Since they were on sale for 2 for $3, I got it free without the coupon even having to double. It was free at face value. For this reason, I saved it until last because I wanted to save space for my doubling coupons at the beginning.

Also, if you have the $1.50 off Smart Balance coupon, use it today since it expires today, January 4th (mine did).

One note- I did redeem a $5 Walgreens coupon during this trip. Those are allowed at Harris Teeter, since Harris Teeter takes competitors coupons for money off the total order only (not specific items from other stores). Some Harris Teeters will allow it; others will not. Some say the store must have a pharmacy to be a competitor with a drugstore and the Harris Teeter I shopped this morning did have a pharmacy.

Finally, there were lots of digital coupon match-ups along with the paper coupons, so be sure to check your Harris Teeter EVIC email and click any digital coupons you like so that you can use them alongside of your paper coupons. This is one way to stack coupons at Harris Teeter and thankfully, Harris Teeter allows stacking of digital (EVIC) and paper coupons.

Hop on over to the Delly’s Deals Facebook page and share your great deals this week with us all!

Super Double Coupons Coming Up!

If you haven’t yet heard, I am excited to announce that Super Double Coupon week will be coming up on Wednesday, January 4th at Harris Teeter!

Starting Wednesday and lasting through Tuesday night, January 10th, all coupons between $1.00-$1.99 will double in value. Normally, only coupons less than $1.00 double, however Super Double coupons week is very special in that your higher value coupons will have a chance to double. The limit is 20 coupons to double per day, so if you need to use more than that, you should go back another day.

I suggest starting now pulling all your $1.00-$1.99 coupons that you would like to use. I also suggest arranging them by department in the store to help with organization. I simply make piles on my living room floor or kitchen table once I have pulled all the coupons I’d like to use. See my older post, “How I Get Ready for Super Double Coupons Week” for details on how I prepare for special shopping events like this.

Also, don’t forget to start printing coupons now, too. You can print some now and then print more on January 1st, since many will reset. See the left of my website and click, “See all coupons” to see all the options you have for printable coupons. There are many good ones on there, so be sure to print now before they sell out!

If you need to order any coupons, check EBAY. I often find great deals on specific coupons there.

Finally, remember your Sunday paper this Sunday, January 1st, because from what I hear there are sure to be lots of great coupons!

Super Doubles- Only One Day Left!

There is only one full day left in Super Double Coupon week! Super Double Coupons ends Tuesday night at 11:59 p.m. so you still have time to shop and have your higher value coupons double.

If you haven’t seen some of the great deals that people have been getting, please check out the Delly’s Deals Facebook page. Local readers have been posting all their great deals from Super Doubles week and I am so impressed. Check it out- you might find a deal that you skipped!

Also, today is the last day of my Facebook contest. If you post a great grocery deal that you found this week, I will enter your name into a drawing for a $10 grocery store gift card! The drawing will be tonight, around 6 p.m., so get on over to Delly’s Deals on Facebook and enter!

Super Double Coupons Trip #1/Giftcard Giveaway

I paid $18.97 for all these groceries, down from a total of $87.53.
Items pictured: Harris Teeter Fresh Lettuce Salad Mix, Celestial Seasonings Green Tea, 2 Jars of Wolfgang Puck Spaghetti Sauce, Herbal Essences Shampoo, Gold Peak Green Tea 64 oz, Gold Peak Sweet Tea 64 oz, 5 Cans of Green Giant Veggies, Dawn Dish Detergent, Bounty Paper Towels Select-a-size, Febreeze Set and Refresh, Ortega Taco Shells, Ortega Tostada Shells, 3 Carpet Fresh Scented Powders, Welch’s Grape Juice 64 oz, Campbells Kettle Style Soup, Bear Creek Potato Soup Mix, Always Infinity Maxis 14 ct., Crest Complete Deep Clean Toothpaste, Angus Cubed Steak, 4 Bananas, 3 Activia Greek Yogurts, 1 Dozen Large Eggs, Smart Balance Half Gallon of Milk, Coffee Mate Brown Sugar Maple Latte Creamer

This morning I got up early and did my first Super Double Coupons week trip to Harris Teeter in Mayfaire. Although I was organized and prepared with my two sets of coupons (freebies and cheapies), the trip took longer than expected due to the fact that the store had not changed over all their prices from the previous week’s sale. This made shopping a challenge, as I had to go by memory on some of the prices. For example, the Wolfgang Puck Spaghetti Sauce was on sale for $2.00 but the tag still said $2.99. This caused me to second guess whether it should be included on my freebies list, as I had a $1.00 off coupon that would double to $2.00 off. I noticed employees still changing tags, so I went ahead and got the soup. Good thing too, because it ended up being a money maker!

Other than that problem, the trip was successful. I ended up getting $87.53 worth of groceries for only $18.97, so I was happy with that. Also, I got $1.50 back in the form of Catalina coupons to use in the store on my next trip, due to a special promo going on with the Wolfgang Puck Spaghetti Sauce, so if you count that, I guess you could say that I really spent only $17.47 for 34 items, many of them being expensive items (specialty milks, feminine products, meat, specialty toothpaste, to name a few).

Below are the FREE items that I got:

In addition to the above freebies, I got lots of cheapies (items under $.50). For example, I liked the deal on Green Giant Canned Veggies. They are Buy 2 Get 3 Free, so I got five cans for only 2.70. I also had a $.50 off, making the total for all five $2.20 (.44 each). Not the best deal ever on canned veggies, but still very good.

I also got Coffee Mate Creamer for only .17, after paper and digital coupons, and I made money on a roll of Bounty Paper towels. They were free after my $1.00 paper coupon (from Essence Magazine) and then I still got a $.50 credit for a Bounty digital coupon, making it a $.50 money maker. The Herbal Essences Shampoo was a deal, at only 3.16, making it $.16 after digital coupon and paper coupon. Honestly, I think it was supposed to be a money maker, because I thought it was on sale for $2.50, so I may check back with the store on that pricing.

There are so many deals to be had this week, especially if you combine digital and paper coupons. Through Monday, November 7th, if you post on the Delly’s Deals Facebook Page to share your great deals that you get (from any store, not just Harris Teeter), you will be entered into a drawing for a $10 grocery store gift card, so be sure to drop in and share!

How I Get Ready for Super Double Coupons

In honor of Super Double Coupons Week starting tomorrow, it just occurred to me to post on how I get ready for Super Double Coupon Week.

I have been out of town the past two weekends, so I just now started preparing for the big week. Since I can only double twenty coupons per day, I figured that I will at least have my first shopping trip ready for tomorrow and that I can work on the rest later. I will probably go 3-4 times this week, for a total of around 80 coupons.

Remember, the rules of Super Double coupon week are that you can double up to twenty coupons per day, including coupons that are up to $1.99 in face value on the coupon. This means that $1.00 will double to $2.00, $1.50 will double to $3.00 and $1.75 will double to $3.50 off.

Read my post, “How I Get Prepare for Triple Coupons Week” to get specific details on exactly what I do to prepare. Although I was preparing for Triple coupon week when I did that post about six weeks ago, the steps that I follow are the same for this week’s Super Double Coupon week.

Other tips to remember-

A. Try to get the items you want the most (particularly the free ones) first. Sometimes popular items sell out. Although the grocery store will restock, it’s hard to know exactly when and how many of an item they will get in.

B. Order any coupons for items your family goes through quite a bit, but only if it will be a good deal. You can order from EBAY or Kuntry Klippers to get item specific coupons.

C. Pull any $1.00, $1.50, and $1.75 off coupons out of your binder and place in an envelope marked specifically for Super Double coupons. That way, you can easily price check in store to see if it will be a good deal. Also, organize the coupons by aisle in the grocery store for maximum efficiency, although this is not required.

D. Don’t forget to upload your digital coupons! Go to your Harris Teeter weekly emails, click “EVIC coupons” and load as many as you like onto your shopper card. I noticed lots of P&G coupons that have digital matchups, so this means you will double your paper coupon AND get the digital coupons off, too! I have also been getting overage on my digital coupons, so that’s a nice bonus!

I love to hear about all your great deals! Post here or on the Delly’s Deals Facebook Page and share your deals with us all week!

Super Double Coupons Coming Up!

In case you hadn’t heard, this Wednesday, November 2nd, starts Super Double coupon week at Harris Teeter!

As always, this is an opportunity to get some great deals on groceries and potentially stock up. Your $1.00 coupons will double to $2.00 off, your $1.50 will double to $3.00 off, and any $1.75 will double to $3.50 off.

As usual, Jenny from Southern Savers has posted two lists of deals. She will probably post one more list of deals before the week is over.

Super Double Coupons List #1

Super Double Coupons List #2

Keep in mind to be patient during Super Double coupon week, as many people will be shopping for the deals, so you will likely not find everything on your list, particularly the items that are free. It starts Wednesday morning at 7 a.m., so the closer to then that you shop, the better your chances at getting some great deals!

Amazing Lysol Promotion at Harris Teeter!

If you haven’t done the Lysol promotion at Harris Teeter, you MUST! It lasts through Tuesday night, so you still have plenty of time. It works best if you bought two copies of last week’s Sunday paper; there were two pages full of Lysol coupons in the Smart Source insert that allow you to get this great deal. Take a look:

I got all of these cleaning products for only $3.91 plus tax!!!!

Want to know how I did it? I will show you so you can grab the deal, too!

Harris Teeter is running a promo this week where if you buy $20 worth of Lysol products, you get $5 off your bill automatically at the register. Even better is that the Lysol products are on sale AND there were matching coupons in last week’s Sunday paper (there are also some coupons on my database if you search “Lysol”).

The great thing about the promo is that once you buy $20 worth of Lysol products, you will get the $5 credit, EVEN if you use coupons to lower the actual amount you pay. So I bought:

4 Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaners (on sale for $1.50 each)
4 Lysol Antibacterial Wipes (on sale for $1.79 each)
4 Lysol Kitchen Spray Cleaners (on sale for $1.69)
1 Lysol Antibacterial Fabric Mist (on sale for $2.99)

Total: $22.91

At the register, $5 came off automatically for the promotion.

I then redeemed 7 coupons, all for $1 off. Since this was Super Double week, they doubled to $14 off!!!!

$22.91- $5$14= $3.91!!!! I SAVED $41.94 (this was on my receipt)

Now THAT’s what I call a great deal! Not even the dollar store can beat that. Since I bought 13 items, they averaged $.30 a piece. I personally love the Lysol toilet bowl cleaners, too, so I was very happy to stock up.

One annoying thing is that I had to pay $1.12 tax. That is because the tax is configured on the PRE-coupon amount, not what you pay after coupons. Bummer, I know. But, it is still a great deal!

As a side note, the Harris Teeter Mayfaire had plenty in stock; hopefully they will stock up some more this week. The Harris Teeter in Ogden was out of the wipes, so I had to go up the road to complete the deal.

Let me know if you are able to get this great deal, too!
