Celebration! 1,000 “Likes” on Facebook!

Feb

I started my Facebook page over the summer as a way to connect with other local couponers. I wanted a way for us to all share deals and help each other out with our savings. I am so excited to announce that we have finally surpassed 1000 “Likes” on Facebook. That means that 1,000 of you out there have taken the time to “like” my Delly’s Deals Facebook page and join in the coupon conversation. I want to thank you for being a part of all the fun.

I wanted to celebrate by giving away a $50 grocery store gift card in the month of February. I did a drawing and we do have a winner! Drumroll, please………………………..

Karin Ray is the winner!

Thank you to everyone for being a part of Delly’s Deals and if you haven’t yet joined us, please do!

FREE Thermacare Heat Wraps at CVS

Feb
27

I just wanted to make sure everyone noticed the free Thermacare heat wraps deal at CVS this week. It’s pretty easy- you buy one Thermacare heat wrap for $3.79 and immediately after paying get $3.79 back in ExtraBucks. You can then spend those ExtraBucks on something else in the store! I like to apply mine to something on sale that I have a coupon for and it’s a bonus if I can buy something that will earn me more Extrabucks.

I don’t like deals as much where I have to pay out of pocket first and then get reimbursed, but if you need something else in the store, it’s definitely worth it because you can get the next item for free.

Hopefully the wraps will all be in stock. Let me know how it turns out for you. You have until Saturday, March 3rd to get this deal!

Thank you to our show sponsors, Medical Simplicity, I Am Salon and Day Spa, and Memories of a Child. Please support these local businesses as they help make the Delly’s Deals Radio Show possible! Also, check out the February specials from I Am Salon and Day Spa. They are offering Chocolate Massages and Facials! I am so there! Also, please take a moment to watch this short, informative video from Dr. Tom on how we can lower the cost of healthcare!

Today on the Delly’s Deals Radio Show, our main topic was “Where to Find Coupons.” I shared my favorite sources for finding coupons and took calls from callers, too. Sources included The Sunday paper, Coupon Clipping Services, EBAY, free Encore Magazine coupons,  Check out this quick video from Michelle Li, at Fox News, where she talks about the differences in newspapers. Like Michelle, I have found that the bigger the city, the better the coupons! If you want to find the Raleigh paper locally, click my link to the left “Where to Find the News and Observer” to see a list of places locally that carry it. Be sure to get up early!

I also shared my favorite deals this week, including B1G1 free Kelloggs cereal at Lowes Foods, FREE Tylenol Precise Patch at Walgreens, $.02 Yo Crunch Yogurt at Lowes Foods ($.12 at Harris Teeter), Free Pancake Day at IHOP on Tuesday, Feb. 28th (optional donation to Children’s Miracle Network in exchange for short stack). I also like the 3-Day Sale going on this week through Sunday at Lowes Foods, which includes a great sale on Gain Laundry Detergent. Get it for only $3.99. At Harris Teeter, Eight o Clock Coffee is $3.00 off, making it only $3.99 a bag BEFORE you use your coupons! Thanks to Sarah E. for pointing out that many of the bags have coupons inside, so be sure to check if you have some already at your house. If you have the Got 2 B Products coupons, they are free at Walgreens, if you can find them in stock. I’m not sure if Walgreens does rain checks but please let me know if you find out!

The Fuzzy Peach in Porter’s Neck (North Wilmington) is offering free frozen yogurt today from 12-2 only! They are celebrating their one year anniversary. Check it out- I hear it’s very good!

Want to Earn FREE Products from Delly’s Deals?

Feb
22

I want to take a moment to announce a new way that you can earn FREE products from Delly’s Deals! It’s a new referral program that I have worked out.

Many of you have attended my workshops. If you have attended and feel that you benefited from the information, I invite you to tell a friend (or relative, or neighbor, or co-worker, or whoever)!

For each person that you refer who attends one of my public library workshops, you will receive a $2 credit. This credit can be used towards a coupon binder, coupon binder refill kit, extra coupon pages, etc.! Our nicest binder is the Deluxe Couponing Binder Kit, which retails for $35. For example, if you refer10 people to a workshop, you would earn $20 off the cost! If you referred 18 people, you’d get it for FREE!

Some people may choose to use the referral to earn refill pages for their binder. The choice is yours! Below are the products that we have:

Deluxe Binder Kit: $35
(your choice of zebra or floral binder, 34 coupon holder pages, including 9, 3, 1, and 4 pocket pages), calculator, pens, scissors, meal planner sheets, price book sheets, and pre-printed tabbed dividers)

Basic Binder Kit: $25
(your choice of zebra or floral binder, 25 9-pocket pages)

Binder Alone: $20
(your choice of zebra or floral binder only)

Coupon Binder Refill Kit- $15 (41 pages to refill your binder, including 9, 4, 3, 1, 6, 8 pocket pages)

Coupon Binder Sleeves Alone (50 9-pocket pages for $10 or 100 9-pocket pages for $20)

I never know how these programs will work out but I thought it would be fun to try and see. I know that on occasion there are people who would like a binder but maybe cannot afford it or who would rather earn it for free, so I wanted to offer a way that they could get one at a discount and also help me spread the great news about couponing.

You can start earning right away! I have a workshop coming up this Saturday, Feb. 25th at 1 p.m. at NE Regional Library. Feel free to forward the page or info to anyone you think may be interested.

Finally, if you have some people you want to refer, email me at delly@dellysdeals.com so that I can start you an account and keep track.

Tylenol Precise Freebie at Walgreens!

Feb
22

An easy freebie is a rare thing to come by at the drug stores. Often “freebies” at the drug store require you to buy something and pay out of pocket first, and then get reimbursed through the form of a reward buck program.

Well, here’s an easy freebie that you can get through Saturday night at Walgreens and it requires no out of pocket (except for $.35 tax)! You get the new Tylenol Precise heating pads for free!

You will need the $5 off coupon that came in last Sunday’s Raleigh News and Observer paper. It was not in the local Wilmington Star News.

The Tylenol Precise normally costs $7.99 but it’s on sale for $5.00. After your $5.00 off coupon, it’s free! Easy peasy!

I hear it’s good stuff, too. Three come in the box. I got home tonight and was eager to try it out but I realized that it says do not wear overnight so I will try one out tomorrow. Basically they are heating pads to take care of pain. I believe they are non-medicated, so they’re a good option for those who try to avoid taking medicines for everything.

Let me know how you come out with this deal!

Star News vs. News and Observer

Feb
19

Good morning! Sorry for the late report this morning. I had a workshop that I left at 9:00 p.m. last night and after a couple of stops home I didn’t get in until 10 p.m., during which time I helped my hubby put the kids to bed, had some dinner and unwinded a bit. So, I did sleep in this morning.

I went to two stations to check both papers and I found one Red Plum insert in both the Raleigh News and Observer and the Wilmington Star News. Let’s take a closer look and compare the two!

The Raleigh Paper had coupons for the following products:

Loreal, haircolor, Loreal Paris Skincare, Loreal Paris Youthcode, Loreal Paris Face Product, Meow Mix, Dial Lotion, Dermasilk, Tylenol Precise, Quaker Soft Baked Bars, Superpretzel, Nestle or Wonka Candies, Pop Secret, Krave Cereal, Keebler Cookies, Kelloggs All-Bran, Smart Start, RAisin Bran or Fiber Plus Cereals, Centrum, Advil Cold/Congestion, Advil Children’s, Robitussin, ICool, Gain Detergents or Fabric Softener, Cheer Detergent, Covergirl, Swiffer Handle Duster, Swiffer Wetjet Refill, Gillette Mach 3 Cartridge or Razor, IFlex, Land O Frost Turkey Breast, Star Kist Selects, Star Kist Autentico, Glade Expressions Fragrance Mist, Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser, IHOP Breakfast Items, Beneful, Purina Friskies.

The Wilmington Paper had coupons for the following (blue items only):

Loreal, haircolor, Loreal Paris Skincare, Loreal Paris Youthcode, Loreal Paris Face Product, Meow Mix, Dial Lotion, Dermasilk, Tylenol Precise, Quaker Soft Baked Bars, Superpretzel, Nestle or Wonka Candies, Pop Secret, Krave Cereal, Keebler Cookies, Kelloggs All-Bran, Smart Start, RAisin Bran or Fiber Plus Cereals, Centrum, Advil Cold/Congestion, Advil Children’s, Robitussin, ICool, Gain Detergents or Fabric Softener, Cheer Detergent, Covergirl, Swiffer Handle Duster, Swiffer Wetjet Refill, Gillette Mach 3 Cartridge or Razor, IFlex, Land O Frost Turkey Breast, Star Kist Selects, Star Kist Autentico, Glade Expressions Fragrance Mist, Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser, IHOP Breakfast Items, Beneful, Purina Friskies.

As you can see, the Raleigh paper had Kelloggs and Keebler coupons, Quaker soft bars, Tuna, and several additional coupons that were not in the Wilmington paper. So, as usual, Raleigh is a better bet.

However, given the weather today, I’d almost tell you to not bother getting out for the paper! I definitely wouldn’t bother to get out for the Wilmington paper and I was not super excited about the Raleigh coupons, either. Remember that you can go online and order coupons from sites such as EBAY or Kuntry Klippers, so if you want a couple of specific coupons it might be more worth your time to just do that.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! Until next week……

Harris Teeter General Mills Promo=Really Cheap Cereal for You!

Feb
18

Through Tuesday night, Harris Teeter is running a great promo on cereals from General Mills. It’s SUPER easy and you can even do it without coupons, although it gets better as you add coupons!

It’s simple: Buy 4 qualifying boxes of General Mills Cereals and get $2 off your total order automatically at the register. As a bonus, the qualifying cereals are already on sale for $2.50 each! So, when you buy ten, the cost will be $10-$2= $8. If you don’t know which cereals qualify, you can see them below or here as well as in the store on a tag on the shelf). Be sure to select the proper size, too.

But it gets better- You can apply coupons and there are MANY out there. Some have been in the newspaper, so check your binder, and others are available online by printing them on your home printer. Here are a couple of links to coupons that work:

Betty Crocker
Box Tops
Pillsbury

I’ve done this promo several times because I had lots of coupons for these cereals. I’ve gotten about 16 boxes of different ones because I have three children and cereal is a welcome commodity in my house. You should stock up on as many as you feel you can afford and that your family will need in the coming months.

Here’s an example of one of the times I did the promo. I bought:

2 Honey Nut Chex for $1.97 each (EVIC weekend special price)
1 Rice Chex for $2.50
1 Corn Chex for $2.50
Total:  8.94
Promo at the Register Comes off= -$2.
Total Now: $6.94
Coupon for $1 off 2 boxes, which doubles to $2 off
Total Now: $4.94
Another Coupon for $1 off 2 boxes, which doubles to $2 off
Total Now: $2.94
EVIC Digital Coupon for $.74 off a box of Chex
Total Now: 2.20 before tax

Total for Four Boxes of Chex: $.55 Each!

Here’s another example of when I did the promo with Honey Nut Cheerios, Lucky Charms, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I bought:

2 Honey Nut Cheerios at $2.50 each
1 Cinnamon Toast Crunch at $2.50 each
1 Lucky Charms at $2.50 each
Total: 10.00
Promo at the Register Comes off= -$2.
Total Now: $8.00
Coupon for $.55 off 1 box, which doubles to $1.10 off
Total Now: $6.90
Another Coupon for $.75 off 1 box, which doubles to $1.50 off
Total Now: $5.40
Another Coupon for $1 off 2 boxes, which doubles to $2.00 off
Total Now: $3.40
EVIC Digital Coupon for $.50 off a box of Cheerios
Another EVIC Digital Coupon for $.50 off a box of Cheerios
Total Now: $2.40 before tax

Total for Four Boxes of Cereal: $.60 Each!

So, I hope you see how this promo can really add up and even if you don’t have coupons, I think that $2.00 per box is still a pretty good price!

Free Crunchmaster Crackers Coupon

Feb
17

This evening on Fox News I shared a deal where I got the Crunchmaster Crackers for free. They are $1.99 at Harris Teeter this week and with this $1.00 off coupon, which will double, they become free!

Click here to access the coupon. You do have to share your email address with Crunchmaster in exchange for the coupon, but since it’s a freebie, it’s a fair trade to me!

The crackers are also gluten-free, so those who are following a diabetic diet should be able to enjoy these.
